- Abstract
Human gestures can be used to interact naturally with computers. One of the human gestures is hand gestures. The hand gestures signal in hand gesture recognition systems can be acquired through on-body sensors, cameras, and radar sensors. Compared to the other two data acquisition devices, radar sensors have some advantages which are more convenient to apply and have better privacy security. In this paper, a radar sensor technology review is made to be used to build hand gesture recognition systems. Much literature on hand gesture recognition in the recent four years is compared regarding the radar technology used, its specific application, and the dataset used. The results of this review will be used as references for the development of research related to speaker recognition. Based on its application, it can be concluded that the radar can be categorized into four, which are drone control, vehicle/home intelligence, static hand gestures, and contactless Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).
