- Abstract
Based on data from A-share listed companies spanning the period 2009–2023, this paper empirically examines the impact of corporate data factor utilization levels on high-quality development and its underlying mechanisms. The findings reveal that, amidst the vigorous expansion of the digital economy, data, as a critical factor of production, profoundly influences corporate high-quality development. Regarding the mechanism, corporate data factor utilization primarily promotes high-quality development by mitigating information asymmetry and reducing agency costs. The results indicate that enterprises should enhance the systematic development and efficient utilization of data factors and improve data governance capabilities to foster high-quality development.
