- Abstract
Carbon tariff mechanism has been one of the major focuses of great power competition concerning climate change with increasingly growing impact on the positions and roles of many countries in global trade and industry and value chains as well as the globalization of various industries. The present article interprets the history of development of the carbon tariff policies in the EU and US and also relevant laws and regulations. The influences and countermeasures of the carbon tariff and other trade barriers are analyzed herein.
