“The Marriage of Figaro” is the pinnacle of Mozart’s comic opera, and the duet plays an important role in the play, with diverse character types. Fully understanding the relationships and personality traits of the characters in the play is the key to vividly interpreting them. This article analyzes the characteristics and key points of Mozart’s comic opera characters, and proposes the following suggestions: when performing Mozart’s comic opera works, singers can take understanding the emotions and cultural connotations conveyed by the music itself, as well as familiarize themselves with the image characteristics of different characters, as a premise. Based on this, they can combine these with singing techniques and emotional expression to find a suitable balance point.
