- Abstract
With the increasing penetration of digital education, online course interfaces have become a core vehicle for interactive learning. The effectiveness of their design significantly impacts learners’ concentration in their studies. For example, in university online platforms, inadequate design of information, visuals, and interactions can increase learners’ cognitive load and hinder their learning focus. The concept of minimalist design, centered around “focusing on core needs, streamlining non-essential elements, and optimizing interaction flows” can provide a systematic approach to optimizing online course interfaces. This article first clarifies the connotation and necessity of minimalist design, then conducts research from three key dimensions: “simplification of information architecture”, “simplification of visual presentation”, and “simplification of operation interaction”, analyzing the feasibility of related design strategies. Finally, it summarizes the practical value and future development directions of minimalist design for online courses, providing a reference for optimizing university digital teaching platforms.
