- Abstract
Engineering practice shows that most of the damage and failure of rockfill dams are directly or indirectly related to seepage. The steady seepage analysis method is used to evaluate the seepage control effects of the Longbeiwan CFRD. The variational inequality formulation of Signorini’s type is used to determine the overflow boundary and free surface, which effectively improves the grid dependence of nonlinear seepage analysis. The analysis shows that: under the action of concrete face and anti-seepage curtain, the free surface of seepage in the dam body is low, the water head behind the curtain is generally small, the effects of seepage control measures are obvious, and the seepage gradient of the dam body meets the requirements of engineering seepage stability.
