- Abstract
With the lack of fossil resources and the outbreak of the outbreak of global energy crisis, the urgency of energy transformation around the world has received more extensive attention. Therefore, the power grid, which is a vital section of energy consumption, has also faced serious problems, and the development of the whole power system and the integration with advanced technologies is an inevitable trend. As a result, Smart Distribution Networks (SDNs) emerged from this revolution. This paper provided a systematic review of how SDN technologies address the challenges of renewable energy integration. Unlike previous reviews focusing solely on urban SDNs, this study pioneers a cross-scenario analysis covering urban, industrial, and rural applications. Moreover, this paper evaluates the key technological advancements in SDNs between 2015 and 2024 through bibliometric analysis and case studies. The data analysis results that SDNs have outstanding effects in energy utilization (over 99%), fault detection accuracy (83%-85%), and optimization of power supply adjustment (26%-29%).
