- Abstract
This study utilized Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to map and analyze the distribution of major diseases within Alang-Alang Lebar, Palembang. By integrating epidemiological data and environmental factors, the research highlights significant patterns in the prevalence of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and Upper Respiratory Tract Infections (URTI) across various neighborhoods. The findings illustrate specific areas with heightened disease occurrence, offering a spatial understanding that aids in targeted public health interventions and resource allocation. This approach underscores the potential of GIS as a crucial tool in health surveillance and management, fostering more informed decisions that can enhance community health outcomes in Palembang.
