Abstract

In the era of advances construction technology in Indonesia, the use of precast concrete as a building structural element is increasing. For efficient and strong building structures, in-depth research is necessary performance of precast beam connections. This research aims to evaluate the performance of precast beam connections using the Grout and Bolt Sleeve Connection system, which is an innovative approach in precast concrete construction technology. The experimental method was carried out by making prototype objects in the form of beam with a length of 120 cm, a width of 15 cm, and a height of 25 cm. Test objects are consist of precast and conventional beam. This prototype objects used fc’25 Mpa concrete and was grouted using SikaGrout 215, and tested using a 200 ton capacity of Universal Testing Machine (UTM) at the Jakarta State Polytechnic Civil Engineering Department Materials Laboratory. The test analysis results that the maximum deflection of the conventional beam is 9.1 mm with a maximum load of 11.7 tons. Meanwhile, the maximum deflection of the precast beam is 11.43 mm with a larger load of 15.4 tons. Precast beam connections can provide reliable and economical performance, and can be a recommendation in designing safe and efficient high-rise building structures.
