- Abstract
The Solar Power Plant (PLTS) is a solution to the fossil fuel/oil energy crisis. Oebau Village, in Pantai Baru District, Rote Ndao Regency, covering an area of 1,280.1 hectares, has around 800 hectares of rainfed rice fields. Through the village fund program, reservoirs have been built to collect water that can be used for agricultural irrigation. The use of an off-grid PLTS system to supply power to water pumps provides a solution for areas that are not served by the state electricity grid (PLN). The use of PLTS can convert electrical energy from photovoltaic modules into alternating current to operate water pumps. By using a solar-powered water pump, the irrigation needs of rice fields can be met; when rainfall occurs and the reservoirs are filled, water can then be distributed to the rice fields, and the plowing process can begin, enabling the planting season to start early when the rains arrive. This research aims to build a PLTS as a power supply for a solar water pump, and to observe the performance of the solar modules in generating electricity, which is stored in batteries and converted from DC to AC by an inverter to drive the water pump. The control panel box is designed to be portable, allowing for easy placement, maintenance, and repair of the control equipment, and to house the batteries within a single box. Testing and measurement are carried out to evaluate the performance of the constructed PLTS system.
