Abstract

Ecofeminism theology provides space for women as members of the church to address environmental issues as a call of faith. In the context of church in Puruk Cahu, Central Kalimantan, women are faced with the reality of environmental degradation, which has resulted in the reduced availability of natural foodstuffs such as river fish. Based on this reality, women experience the impact of the environmental crisis because in their daily lives they play a role as food processors for the family. This paper also analyzes the views of women congregants regarding environmental damage using an ecofeminist perspective. This research was conducted at Kalimantan Evangelical Church (GKE) Ekklesia Puruk Cahu, Central Kalimantan. This research uses qualitative methodology with descriptive analysis. The results of this study found that the ecofeminist views of the female congregation of GKE Ekklesia are in the form of awareness that the environment around them has been damaged by irresponsible human attitudes and actions. The realization of the church's ecofeminist views can also be seen from the lives of female congregants in environmentally conscious families. This can be supported through sermons on ecology and environmental actions in the church context.
