Abstract

The design and analysis of an Ultra-Wideband (UWB) microstrip patch antenna with a modified inset feed and a semi-circular slot that is optimized for wireless communication are investigated in this research. With a large bandwidth spanning from 1.7 GHz to 9.69 GHz and resonance at 4 GHz, the suggested antenna efficiently covers a number of frequency bands, including sub-6 GHz 5G, WLAN, and UWB. Impedance matching and bandwidth are improved by the addition of a semi-circular slot, and steady gain characteristics and increased radiation efficiency are guaranteed by the modified inset feed. The ground plane is 88 × 88 × 0.001 mm in size, and the antenna is constructed on a FR4 substrate that is 88 × 88 × 1.6 mm in size. The feed structure is 50 × 2 × 0.001 mm, and the patch has a radius of 22 mm and a thickness of 0.001 mm. It is appropriate for wearable and portable applications because to its small size. Simulated and observed results demonstrate a low return loss (S₁₁ < -10 dB) across the whole bandwidth, great radiation efficiency, and an omnidirectional radiation pattern, making it an excellent choice for high-speed wireless networks.
