Abstract

Due to their low cost, small size, and ease of production, microstrip patch antennas are important in wireless communication. The employment of microstrip antennas in high-frequency, high-speed data communication applications has led to a rise in their usage. Microstrip antennas are increasingly used in the market for mobile phones. A suggested microstrip patch antenna is meant for use with satellites. An antenna is suggested for use with satellites and is constructed with several slots on the rectangular patch at 15 GHz. Such slots change the resonance frequency on the patch to the lower side, and numerous antenna properties are also affected. In this prosed approach to overcome this problem as microstrip patch antenna with S- slot operated at 13.7GHz in satellite application as recommended. Consuming HFSS (High frequency structure simulator) software, the antenna is designed. The antenna’s tangent loss is 0.02 and its relative permittivity is 10.2 when it is designed using FR4 as the substrate material. This work uses HFSS to be an efficient performance by exposing different factors including gain, directivity, bandwidth, and return loss. The antenna has a 1.14 GHz frequency bandwidth, a -14 dB return loss, gains of 6.31 dB and directivity 3.544 dB.
