Abstract

Students in the early science learning classes at SDN 12 Kota Barat, Gorontalo City. The method used in this research is quantitative with a Quasi-Experimental design. Data collection techniques use questionnaires, tests, and observations. Data analysis uses descriptive statistics by describing the data that has been collected in the form of students’ creative thinking abilities based on description tests which represent indicators of students’ creative thinking abilities. The population in this study was an initial class of 30 students, where the control class received conventional model treatment and the experimental class received PBL model treatment. The average pretest score for the control class was 42.6 and the average pretest score for the experimental class was 44.2, which was included in the sufficient category. From these results, the average post-test score for the experimental class is higher than the average post-test score for the control class, so there is an influence of the PBL model on students’ creative thinking abilities in early grade science learning at SDN 12 Kota Barat, Gorontalo City. These results are supported by the results of the research hypothesis test which shows the value of count = 2.929 > table 2.048 at a significance level α= 0.05. So from the results of the hypothesis test, the test results show that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted.
