Abstract

The main emerging challenges related to the Science and Social Studies (IPAS) module and the Ministry of Education's non-digital education module are the limitations of accessibility and distribution. This research aims to analyze the need to develop a digital module based on cultural literacy and citizenship, and global insight for fourth-grade elementary school in Indonesia. This research used qualitative descriptive methods that are oriented toward the development of a product. The subjects of this study were 287 primary school teachers in various regions of Indonesia. Furthermore, interview sheets, observation guidelines, and digital module requirements questionnaires were used. The objects analyzed included front-end analysis such as audience analysis, technology analysis, situation analysis, task analysis, and need assessment. The research reveals the need for the development of digital modules in order to enhance cultural literacy and citizenship as well as the growth of global sensitivity insights through intra-curricular activities in primary schools. The results of this research make an important contribution to elementary school teachers who still have difficulty developing cultural literacy and citizenship, and global sensitivity insight into students’ because the digital module contains varied activities packaged with Jigsaw and STAD type cooperative learning so it is easy to use.
