Abstract

Scholars posited that one important factor of moral education framework is the family moral education. The moral environment of the family significantly influence individuals’ ethical formation. Such education should value harmony over utility, emphasize principles over facts, and stress moral direction over indulgence. Within the family context, fostering mutual respect, empathy, and cooperation provides the foundation for personal development. Encouraging a sense of moral responsibility and integrity leads to genuine happiness. Since the essence of moral self-education lies in personal awakening, it is important to explore how normative family moral education contributes to adolescents’ ethical growth. This paper therefore seeks to answer two key questions: What moral principles should individuals uphold? And what role does family moral education play in this process?
