Abstract

This research is motivated by the need to develop a digital flipbook products for students’ scientific literacy skills in science learning elementary school. Scientific literacy is important to be integrated in the learning process because it has the aim that students are able to understand science concepts well and apply it in real life to solve existing problems. The purpose of this research is to explain the needs analysis of digital flipbook teaching materials for students’ scientific literacy in fifth grade in science learning elementary school. This research was conducted at SDN Citayam 1 in April 2024 by involving a class teacher and 48 fifth grade students from SDN Citayam 1. The method used in this research is a survey method with data collection techniques carried out by interviews and questionnaires. The results showed that the use of digital flipbook teaching materials for scientific literacy was needed and students were interested in using digital flipbooks as a support for science learning. The results of this needs analysis will then be used to design digital flipbook teaching materials for scientific literacy in science learning elementary school.
