- Abstract
Loa Kulu Kota Village, Loa Kulu Sub-District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, is one of the areas where the Mahakam River stretches. Most people use the river for fish cultivation. This great potential should be a factor that can improve the welfare of cultivators and can be an opportunity to reduce poverty by opening employment opportunities. This research aims to determine the welfare level of fish farmers in Loa Kulu City Village, Kutai Kertanegara Regency, East Kalimantan. The research was carried out in October 2022, while the purposive sampling technique was employed on 20 cultivator respondents. Data analysis uses a qualitative description approach using BKKBN indicators. The analysis results show that cultivator families are dominated by the Prosperous Family III category, involving 10 people (50%). Therefore, it can be concluded that most fish cultivators are quite prosperous.
