Abstract

The blue economy promotes sustainable ocean resource utilization for economic growth and ecosystem health. Kembangarum Urban Village in Semarang, Indonesia, exemplifies sustainable aquaculture through innovative practices. The initiative addresses food security and environmental integrity by implementing community-based aquaculture programs, such as the Budikdamber project, which integrates fish and vegetable cultivation in urban settings. Collaborations with local stakeholders and technological advancements, including IoT and solar energy, enhance aquaculture efficiency and sustainability. Training and mentoring support local fish farmers, improving productivity and economic resilience. The initiative demonstrates the potential for urban aquaculture to address global challenges through localized solutions.
