Abstract

Education for Sustainable Development has become essential for preparing students to understand and address climate change, yet the integration of interactive worksheets to enhance climate change literacy remains underexplored. This study systematically reviewed 25 articles published between 2015 and 2025, following PRISMA guidelines, to examine how ESD-oriented interactive worksheets have been developed, implemented, and evaluated across primary to secondary education in science learning. The review found that research has grown steadily since 2018, predominantly targeting senior secondary students, with most studies employing Research and Development or quasi-experimental designs. Worksheets increasingly feature digital, interactive formats that integrate SDG-based content, local environmental issues, and project- or problem-based learning approaches, effectively supporting students’ cognitive understanding, practical skills, and pro-environmental attitudes. Despite these positive outcomes, gaps remain, including limited interventions at the primary level and a lack of longitudinal or mixed-method studies to assess sustained impact. Future research is recommended to expand the use of ESD-oriented worksheets for younger learners, diversify methodologies, and investigate long-term effects on climate change literacy.
