- Abstract
This study aims to develop a textbook for the Environmental Science and Biotechnology course focusing on the implementation of ecoenzymes through the cultivation in environmentally friendly biofloc aquaponics systems. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) design to produce valid and effective textbooks that support students understanding and lecturers instructional delivery. Ecoenzymes are fermented organic waste products that help purify pond water and reduce chemical pollution, while the biofloc aquaponics system integrates biofloc and aquaponics techniques to improve water efficiency and sustainability in aquaculture. The developed textbook was evaluated by expert validators, achieving a media validation score of 97.5% and a material validation score of 96.66%, both categorized as very good and suitable for classroom application. The textbook content covers ecoenzyme production, biofloc and aquaponics principles, water quality management, and sustainable aquaculture practices. The findings indicate that this textbook can enhance students comprehension of environmental science and biotechnology concepts and promote sustainable learning practices. Furthermore, its publication encourages lecturers to continue developing innovative textbooks in alignment with curriculum objectives.
