- Abstract
Emotional and Behavioral Disorders (EBD) are increasingly prevalent in school counseling. Students with EBD often exhibit social difficulties, emotional regulation problems, and classroom behavior issues, which can significantly impact their academic performance and daily life. Currently, the emotional and behavioral problems of EBD students are becoming more complex. This paper focuses on exploring how music therapy can be integrated into the school counseling system through a literature review and case analysis, and examines the specific effects and benefits of music therapy on the emotional regulation and improvement of EBD students. The research results show that EBD students have significantly improved emotional regulation ability, expression ability, and classroom performance during music therapy. These improvements can also reduce aggressive behavior, social difficulties, depressive moods, and enhance students’ self-esteem. However, there are also some challenges in the process of music therapy, such as insufficient understanding of music therapy by educators and limited resources.
