- Abstract
Anxiety disorders, as a common psychological condition, severely impair mental health, leading to emotional dysregulation, cognitive deficits, and social dysfunction. Patients often avoid social interactions, damaging interpersonal relationships. Chronic anxiety further harms physical health, affecting multiple systems such as cardiovascular and digestive functions. Traditional treatments for anxiety disorders, including pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy, have demonstrated efficacy but may carry side effects, causing some patients to hesitate about medication. Consequently, non-pharmacological interventions have gained increasing attention. Music therapy, as a gentle, side-effect-free, and potentially effective treatment, has emerged as a promising approach. For patients with anxiety disorders, carefully selected music can help regulate negative emotions and alleviate symptoms. This paper aims to explore the current application of music therapy in anxiety disorders and analyze effective implementation pathways. By cultivating professional music therapists, establishing treatment standards, and leveraging new media for public education, we can enhance societal acceptance of music therapy and promote its widespread use in anxiety treatment. This will maximize its adjunctive therapeutic effects and improve patients’ mental health.
