- Abstract
Dyslexia can affect people’s ability to spell, read, and write, thus, early treatment and intervention for children with dyslexia are critical. Music therapy has emerged as one of the popular approaches in treating dyslexia. However, the awareness towards music therapy as a treatment remains low compared to traditional language approaches, largely due to limited available information. Short-video social media platforms have been found to have vast potential for effectively promoting health programs, due to the engaging format and large user base. This study uses a questionnaire to explore the acceptance and approval of parents of children with dyslexia regarding using Douyin and WeChat Channels as platforms to promote music therapy for treating dyslexia. This provides a basis for the dissemination of dyslexia treatment information in the future. Given that both Douyin and WeChat Channels are among the most popular platforms for participants, the results of this study have underscored the potential of short-video social media platforms to effectively circulate information on music therapy.
