- Abstract
This research investigates the effect of flexible work arrangements on the work-life balance of ageing employees in light of global population ageing. It posits that as employees age, they frequently encounter multiple challenges, including chronic health conditions, eldercare responsibilities, and a desire for an improved quality of life. The study demonstrates that flexible work arrangements, including remote work, flexible hours, and part-time schedules, are an effective human resource strategy that can substantially reduce work-family conflict, especially for employees with eldercare responsibilities. Furthermore, such arrangements enable older workers with chronic health issues to better manage their health, thereby reducing work limitations and potentially extending their professional careers.
