Abstract

The cooling-off period before divorce, more commonly referred to on Chinese social network platforms, especially Sina Weibo, has been a controversial topic among Chinese citizens for several years. However, there have been no controlled studies about how to determine, depending on the circumstances, whether both sides of the couple want to divorce, which is the key to ensuring the scope of the cold period. Actually, the main activist group speaking out against the period is social network users who continuously claim to disagree with the Internet channels. In detail, this paper is going to analyse the feminist arguments on the Weibo platform about the “cooling-off period before divorce” before its publication for a month-long period.
