Abstract

This article aims to systematically explore the profound shaping effect of the genes of Chinese fine traditional culture on Chinese modern military outlook and methodology. Modern Chinese military thought exhibits distinct cultural characteristics: In the value dimension, the ideas of “cautious warfare” and “complete victory” have shaped the defensive national defense policy and the security concept of a “community with a shared future for mankind”. In the dimension of thinking, the wisdom of “dialectical whole” and “the interplay of the odd and the right” is internalized as the core methodology for systematic operations and flexibility. In the practical dimension, “people’s war” and “the way of culture and martial arts” have achieved modern transformation through military-civilian integration and political work systems. These cultural genes, through creative transformation, have endowed Chinese military thought with unique qualities that emphasize morality, strategy and the overall situation. They not only constitute the key clues for understanding Chinese strategic behavior, but also provide valuable Eastern wisdom for global security governance. The conscious inheritance and innovative development of traditional cultural genes is an important path to building a military theoretical system with Chinese characteristics.
