- Abstract
As a unique non-verbal therapy, music therapy plays a vital role in facilitating interpersonal and social interaction. The “reflexive” nature of music therapy and the critical “therapeutic relationship” in the therapy process makes it inevitable to study the interactive process and mechanism of music therapy, rather than the mechanism of music itself. Hyperscanning technology offers a new perspective on the efficacy and mechanism of interpersonal interactions in music therapy through synchronized recording of the brain activities of multiple people. This study explores the application potential of hyperscanning technology in music therapy research. By synthesizing the exploratory research of hyperscanning in general interpersonal scenarios, music performance settings, and music therapy settings, it analyzes the value and limitations of current hyperscanning research in music therapy research scenarios, providing a reference for promoting future research on efficacy and mechanism in the field of music therapy.
