- Abstract
In recent years, China’s fertility rate has continued to decline, and the concept of fertility in contemporary society is undergoing profound changes. Under this macro background, the change of fertility concept of highly educated groups, especially graduate students, is particularly significant. The concept of fertility connects specific individual choices and collective destiny. As an intellectual elite receiving higher education, its fertility decision-making not only reflects the deep contradictions in the period of social transformation, but also has a profound impact on the optimization of population structure, economic development model and labor market reform. Based on the theory of social ecosystem, this paper analyzes the social driving factors of the change of fertility concept of graduate students from the aspects of economy, system and culture, and evaluates its wide influence on society, so as to provide reference for the formulation of policy adjustment to promote the sustainable development of population.
