Abstract

The prevailing concern regarding environmental issues has led to a global conversation, with many contemporary nations recognising the imperative to prioritise environmental enhancement as a fundamental aspect of their developmental agenda. This necessitates a paradigm shift towards innovation and reform within the economic domain, thereby augmenting the impetus for sustainable growth. The present discourse delves into the green transition and the circular development model of the production economy during the process of modernisation in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The study commences with a review of the historical progression of economic development in Inner Mongolia, followed by an in-depth analysis of its prevailing economic structure and the environmental and economic challenges it currently confronts. The theoretical underpinnings of green transition and its practical implementation both domestically and internationally are thoroughly examined, culminating in the proposal of a green transition strategy tailored to the specific context of Inner Mongolia. The analysis then moves on to examine the main problems existing in the implementation of green policies and green transition in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and puts forward concrete policy suggestions and future prospects from the government.
