- Abstract
The development of the information age has seen media short videos, with their concise and rich content, quickly catch the public’s attention, providing entertainment for people’s fragmented time and becoming an important channel for information dissemination. On short video platforms, various aspects are covered, fully demonstrating the diversity of media short videos. With the widespread application and expansion of AI algorithms, the recommendation systems of media short videos have gradually become intelligent, which to some extent shapes users’ information exposure environment. The combination of the diversity of media short videos and AI algorithms brings both opportunities and challenges. The rich and diverse content provides users with many different choices, allowing them to broaden their horizons and gain a more specific understanding. The rules of AI algorithms also need to ensure that while providing personalized recommendations, information has diversity and balance, which can pre-vent users from falling into the trap of information silos. This research paper delves into the relationship between the diversity of media short videos and AI algorithms, analyzes how AI algorithms influence users’ perception of information, and explores the potential and strategies of media short videos in breaking information silos and promoting diverse information dissemination. Through this research, we hope to provide useful references and inspirations for content creators, algorithm developers, and policymakers of short video platforms, and jointly promote the development of media short videos.
