- Abstract
China’s rural landscape is undergoing profound spatial, economic, and social transformation driven by rapid urbanization and industrial restructuring. Drawing on field surveys of representative peri-urban, medium-distance, and traditional villages in Qingyuan District (Baoding, Hebei), this study examines how policy support, economic shifts, community participation, and cultural identity shape rural space regeneration. Findings reveal that although urbanization has accelerated the decline of traditional rural landscapes, it has simultaneously generated new revitalization opportunities. In particular, several villages have achieved innovative landscape renewal by integrating heritage protection with ecological agriculture. The results suggest that sustainable rural revitalization requires context-specific strategies that align cultural heritage conservation, ecological planning, and economic incentives to harmonize traditional values with modern development.
