Abstract

Mental health is a vital foundation for personal well-being and social stability. The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly exacerbated global mental health issues. In the post-pandemic era, it has become one of the most pressing public health challenges. Meanwhile, breakthroughs in artificial intelligence have provided new technical means for mental health testing. This study collected a data set of associations between personal statements and psychological states to deeply explore the semantic features and emotional tendencies of personal statements, and applied machine learning technology to develop an intelligent classification system that can accurately identify seven psychological states (normal state, depression, suicidal tendencies, anxiety, stress, bipolar disorder and personality disorder). By comparing the performance of the three mainstream algorithms of logistic regression, random forest, and XGBoost, the study found that the XGBoost model was significantly better than the other models in all indicators. This research result not only provides a new technical solution for the detection of mental health, but also promotes the innovative application and development of artificial intelligence technology in the field of mental health, which has important academic value and practical significance.
