Abstract

Food wastage and hunger are two major problems globally, most famously seen in most developing countries like India, where they are the norm. The paradox of excess food wastage and extensive hunger is a major impetus for creative solutions. Zero Hunger, a trailblazing web-based food donation platform, aims to bridge this gap by linking donors and organizations via an AI-powered intelligent interface. This Node.js web application built using JSON, JavaScript, and EJS, driven by Firebase authentication, enhances the effectiveness of food and grocery donations by advanced Machine Learning (ML) algorithms that ensure fraud protection and food quality verification. Here, we introduce the conception, implementation, and real contribution of Zero Hunger, with emphasis on its operation in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

The novelty of this work lies in its integration of AI-driven modules for fraud detection, food quality assessment, and intelligent donor-receiver matching within a scalable, modular architecture that enables secure and real-time food donation management in developing regions.
