Abstract

Against the backdrop of the construction of New Liberal Arts, the Visual Communication Design major undertakes the strategic task of cultivating interdisciplinary and innovative talents. Traditional teaching models reveal systematic deficiencies in areas such as objective-oriented process control, quality assurance, and teamwork. This research delves into the potential application value of core management theories—including Management by Objectives, Project Management, Quality Management, Team Management, and Time Management—within Visual Communication Design education, systematically reviewing their connotations and principles. This study finds that these management concepts can effectively address core problems in current teaching practices, such as vague objectives, chaotic processes, uneven quality, and inefficient collaboration. Accordingly, this study selects the most integrative concepts—Quality Management, Project Management, and Management by Objectives—to construct a “Strategy Matrix” course system centered on the “Objective-Process-Quality” axis. This system reconstructs the teaching activity system into a closed-loop process encompassing strategic planning, project execution, and continuous quality improvement, coupled with a teaching implementation approach of “Dual-Teacher Guidance, Four-Stage Control” and a comprehensive “Whole-Process, Multi-Dimensional” evaluation system. This exploration provides a management-theory-based, deeply integrated, and highly operable teaching reform scheme for the Visual Communication Design major. The scheme aims to cultivate students’ strategic thinking, superior quality awareness, efficient execution capabilities, and team leadership, offering solid theoretical support and practical paradigms for the interdisciplinary innovation of art and design education.
