- Abstract
As one of the many branches of the Miao ethnic group, the Siyin Miao people are mainly distributed in Qingzhen, Baiyun, Xiuwen and other areas in Guizhou Province. They get their name from the unique “four- seal” pattern on their costumes. The ancestor worship ritual of the Siyin Miao ethnic group centers on the “Tiaonianchang” (Annual Field Dance) ceremony, which carries their unique cosmology and cultural connotations and reflects the social emotions and ethnic beliefs of people in different historical periods. By sorting out the ritual process of the “Tiaonianchang” of the Siyin Miao in Guizhou, this paper reveals the cosmic order reflected by the ancestor worship ritual, aiming to provide a case reference for understanding the cosmology of ethnic minorities.
