Abstract

This article focuses on Dongguan’s “manufacturing aesthetics” and conducts an in-depth study. First, the rich connotations of Dongguan’s “manufacturing aesthetics” are analyzed. Its core covers six dimensions: the beauty of design, the beauty of craftsmanship, the beauty of production, the beauty of products, the beauty of humanity, and the beauty of concepts, and runs through the entire chain of industrial design, production processes, and product presentation. Then, its important value in improving product competitiveness, promoting industrial upgrading, shaping the city’s cultural image, and cultivating new quality productivity is explained. Finally, combined with the development characteristics of Dongguan’s manufacturing industry of “scientific and technological innovation + advanced manufacturing”, specific paths are proposed to promote the development of Dongguan’s “manufacturing aesthetics” from the aspects of innovative design concepts, strengthening talent training, promoting industrial integration, strengthening brand building, and improving policy support. The purpose is to provide theoretical support and practical reference for the high-quality development of Dongguan’s manufacturing industry.
