- Abstract
Dreamcore is a visual aesthetic that fuses nostalgia, liminality, and surrealism through image strategies such as low saturation, blurry lighting, and abandoned spaces. This study explores how Dreamcore photography, specifically within the context of abandoned amusement parks, constructs emotional arousal through spatial ambiguity, symbolic imagery, and mediated visual language. Through visual analysis and psychological interpretation, this research reveals how rusty Ferris wheels and desolate carousels function as emotional triggers, evoking mixed sentiments of loss, childhood memory, and cultural trauma. The study also situates Dreamcore imagery within post-pandemic emotional culture, arguing that such visuals offer a reflective emotional refuge and form of symbolic critique. The findings contribute to understanding how contemporary image culture visualizes subconscious memory and societal sentiment. Future research may explore immersive Dreamcore expressions in AR/VR environments and therapeutic applications of liminal aesthetics.
