Abstract

Interior design has an important role for a library. College libraries are no exception. Interior design in a library can influence the comfort and interest of visitors as well as the impression given to the library. One of the efforts made to achieve good interior design is by renovating the library interior as carried out by Faculty of Humanities Library, Diponegoro University. The aim of this research is to find out and analyze the new interior design of the Diponegoro University Faculty of Humanities Library. The method used to achieve the research objectives is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Research data was obtained using interview, observation and documentation techniques. The results of the research show that the interior design in Faculty of Humanities Library, Diponegoro University is well organized and provides comfort for users, although several interior design elements need to be considered again, such as the arrangement of space and furniture, temperature regulation, and room noise. Apart from that, the number of reading rooms that can be used by readers is also limited. Despite the limited building area, Faculty of Humanities Library, Diponegoro University has tried to create a good interior design for its users.
