- Abstract
Prior research has examined musculoskeletal disorders in dentistry, but clinical year dental students face unique risks due to the demanding educational process, practical examinations, and psychological pressure from fulfilling graduation requirements. This study aimed to identify risk factors for musculoskeletal disorders among clinical year dental students at Prima Dental and Oral Hospital. A quantitative research design was employed, utilizing a cross-sectional study comprising 50 clinical year dental students. The data was collected through observation using the Nordic Body Map and Rapid Entire Body Assessment tools. The data was analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed that clinical year dental students who worked more than seven hours a day and didn’t exercise more than three times a week were at risk of musculoskeletal disorders. The risk was 10.141 to 11.762 times higher. Stretching and warm-up training helped clinical year dental students reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders and work more efficiently.
