- Abstract
Quality education is one of the pillars of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) implemented by the Indonesian Government. The implementation of this global program to achieve the goals in 2030 is optimized through universities in Indonesia with the establishment of SDGs Centers at these universities. Universities can become centers of excellence that assist central and regional governments in Indonesia in preparing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating and reporting SDGs Action Plans. This research uses a literature review method with data obtained from journal articles, official statements, and news in the mass media. This research attempts a critical review of SDGs Centers in higher education institutions in Indonesia which only results in a contestation between SDG Centers among universities in Indonesia. In conclusion, the implementation of SDGs through the establishment of SDGs Centers in universities in Indonesia has not been optimal in its role as centers of excellence.
