- Abstract
When China and France were undergoing their own social changes, the Chinese writer Lu Xun and the French writer Baudelaire depicted the revolution and social situation in their own country by creating the image of “beggar”. In the paper, it reveals the reversion of the historical visions of the two writers from the multiple meanings that “beggar” bears. Besides, by using the different elements in scenario creation, it further reveals the similarities and differences between the two writers on revolutionary sentiment. Finally, the image of “beggar” co-created by the two writers is defined as the marginal identity of a “wanderer”, so as to construct the spiritual embodiment of Lu Xun and Baudelaire at the turn of last century.
