Abstract

The implementation of targeted poverty alleviation policies by the Ministry of Education’s directly affiliated universities has played an important role in poverty alleviation through education and health. In order to scientifically evaluate and examine the effectiveness of these policies, a DID model is used to evaluate the policy effects of education and health assistance in targeted poverty alleviation by universities. The study found that the health assistance of universities effectively helped assisted counties improve their medical resources and standards, while the education assistance significantly improved the fundamental education of primary and middle schools in the assisted counties, but had no significant impact on vocational education. The empirical research method of this article expands the research ideas in the field of targeted poverty alleviation policies by universities, adds empirical evidence to this field, helps improve the performance evaluation mechanism of targeted poverty alleviation, enhances the social service capabilities of the Ministry of Education’s directly affiliated universities, and provides theoretical support for the implementation of rural revitalization strategies.
