Abstract

Digital transformation in preserving local cultural knowledge demands a knowledge management system (KMS) that is not only functional but also oriented to user needs. This study aims to develop a Human-Centered Information Architecture (HCIA) model for web-based KMS, with a case study on the digitalization of subak knowledge in Bali. The research approach used is qualitative analysis with an integration of deductive approaches. The design process follows the principles of Human-Centered Design, which includes three main stages: inspiration, ideation, and implementation. Eight steps in developing information architecture are carried out systematically, starting from identifying stakeholder objectives and user expectations, designing content structures, and creating wireframes. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and user persona analysis to explore information needs in depth. The results of the study produce an HCIA model that represents the relationship between content structure, navigation flow, and web-based system interface, which has been conceptually validated through user feedback. This study provides theoretical contributions to the development of user-centered information architecture and practical contributions to designing adaptive and contextual cultural KMS. The resulting HCIA model is an important foundation for further research in developing a web-based Subak KMS.
