PriceTrackr: A Real-Time E-Commerce Price Comparison Platform

Abstract

With this piling up of online retailing, consumers often find it difficult to look over prices across various e-commerce portals. Looking for the best price across multiple websites might be time-consuming and confusing. PriceTrackr is the solution at hand-a live price comparison website meant for the big Indian platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal, Meesho, Croma, and Myntra. The system uses automated web scraping and modular architecture to gather product details like price, image, and full purchase link. A central orchestration framework assures scraping happens reliably and continuously, whereas the backend API based on Express.js and Mongo provides access, storage, and authentication for the frontend interface. The dashboard was created using React.js. It allows searching, comparison, and visualization of past price data in an interactive, responsive manner. The experimental results showed highly successful data extraction, where average completeness across the platforms was above 95%. Performance tests have once again proved it capable of scaling well.
