Abstract

Real world communities are being transformed by smart ecosystems through the integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) for real-time community engagement, intelligent data analytics, and public service improvements. This work presents a summary of current trends in IT technologies, security solutions, and data-driven development strategies focused on urban management and digital transformation of urban areas. This study points out the significance of interoperability, sustainability, and artificial intelligence in improving public services by utilizing IoT-enabled smart cities. The study contributes to smart city literature by showing how IoT solutions enable timely decision making, resource optimization and better cybersecurity, ultimately leading towards more sustainable and scalable smart city systems. Furthermore, blockchain and green cloud computing are recognized as key enablers for securing and optimizing the operation of IoT networks. The results of this study will further the knowledge on smart city infrastructure, IoT security, and real-time analytics, setting the path on future research and policy implementation.
