Abstract

Applications for Electric Vehicles (EVs) and portable electronics heavily rely on multiport converters. The only converter utilized for both energy production and consumption is the DC-DC converter. Different input and output configurations, such as single or multiple input and output, are available for these converters. For usage in Electric Vehicle (EV) applications, a five port, non-isolated power electronic interface featuring two input and three output ports has been modified. The reliability and economy of this Five Port Converter (FPC) are increased by its simpler control method and reduced component count. Furthermore, because of its bidirectional power flow functionality, this converter can be utilized to charge the battery of an electric car. MATLAB is used to confirm the converter design’s validity and performance behavior in a range of operating conditions.
