- Abstract
The renewable energy has received quite serious attention worldwide, this is because conventional energy sources are limited. Solar energy is a form of renewable energy that can be converted into electrical energy using photovoltaic modules. The performance of photovoltaic modules is very determining in the application of photovoltaic systems. The performance of a single photovoltaic module, series or parallel connection needs to be observed and analyzed before the photovoltaic module is applied to a real system. Therefore, a performance model of photovoltaic modules under partial shading condition is established in this article. Modeling based on mathematical formulations implemented with Simulink/Matlab. The performance of a single module under standard test conditions is simulated and validated with a photovoltaic module data sheet. The performance of photovoltaic modules connected in series, parallel, the influence of solar radiation and temperature are simulated in this article. The simulation results show that the performance modeling of the Shinyoku photovoltaic module is 20.64 V; 20 W is valid with the data sheet of the photovoltaic module. Photovoltaic modules connected in series provide a voltage increase with a total current equal to the current of one photovoltaic module. Photovoltaic modules connected in parallel provide a current increase with a total voltage equal to the voltage of one photovoltaic module. An increase in solar radiation with a constant temperature result in an increase in the performance of the photovoltaic module, while an increase in temperature with a constant solar radiation result in a decrease in the performance of the photovoltaic module.
