Abstract

The main problem faced by Plasa Telkom Binjai is the man- ual data collection process for Orbit modem sales using Microsoft Excel, which is inefficient, error-prone, and makes reporting difficult. To address this issue, this study designed and implemented a web-based sales data collection information system that is expected to improve the effectiveness and accuracy of data management. The research was conducted using the research and development method through several stages, namely problem identification, system requirements analysis, literature review, system design using UML (Unified Modeling Language), implementation using the PHP programming language and MySQL database, and system testing using the black-box testing method. The implementation results show that the system is capable of managing incoming and outgoing goods data, displaying sales reports automatically, and providing user management with different access rights. The testing proved that the system runs according to requirements, data validation functions well, and the system interface is easy to use by employees. This system is proven to be more effective than the manual method, although there are still limitations in terms of security and availability of the online sys- tem. This research makes a real contribution to improving the efficiency of sales data management within PT. Telkom Indonesia, especially for Orbit modem products at Plasa Telkom Binjai.
