Abstract

This study aims to analyze the legal regulations of waqf in Indonesia related to the supervision and accountability of waqf management by Nazhir. Waqf management in Indonesia after the enactment of the Waqf Law has received serious attention from the public and government, with the emergence of socio-economic potential to achieve sustainable development. The role of Nazhir as the manager and the party that develops waqf still faces serious challenges in transparency and accountability in the management of waqf assets. This is a normative study with a statute approach and a conceptual approach. The results of the study indicate that although there are regulations governing transparency and accountability in re-porting in waqf management by Nazhir, these regulations still require improvements in the application of performance indicators and audit systems, furthermore in the field of supervision of waqf management accountability by Nazhir in the supervision regulations there is disharmony in legal regulations and the need for legal interpretation of the regulations governing supervision of waqf management accountability.
